When a driver careens down a street, or when a skateboarder careens down a sidewalk, or when a thought careens through your mind, it travels very quickly and dangerously, moving side to side, as if out of control.
You could talk about a boat careening from side to side, or a bicyclist careening through a park, or kids driving bumper cars and careening into each other.
As you can tell, careening is movement that's too fast and too reckless, with unsteady wobbling from side to side. You can even get figurative and say that someone careened into a bad decision, or that a story careened into a weird ending.

Write your own sentence!
You can use either of the two ideas I'll suggest, or you can invent your own. Include as much detail as you can!
Remember: to careen is to lurch or tilt recklessly from side to side as you move way too quickly.
Idea 1: "(Someone) went careening (down the sidewalk, through the hallway, or toward something), shouting ('Something!') as people jumped out of the way."
Idea 2: "When I had to (do something scary or difficult), my (thoughts, ideas, or worries) were careening all over the place: what if (something went wrong somehow), and what if I couldn't (do some important step)?"
