A snicker is a quiet little laugh. And when you snicker, you laugh a little bit in a quiet way.

We snicker when we're not supposed to laugh, so we're trying to keep the laugh inside.

You might snicker at someone who fell down. You know you're not supposed to laugh, but you just can't help it. It was funny!

Now, you might be wondering why this candy bar is called Snickers!

(Source)

I Googled that, and I learned that the candy bar may have been named after one of its creator's favorite horses. "Snickers" is a cute name for a horse, right? Especially if he seems to laugh a lot, and especially because "nicker" is another word for "neigh," the sound that a horse makes.
